Bees and Honey
Numbered, limited-edition reversible gown in Italian silk.
The A-SIDE of the COMMON HOURS 'Bees and Honey' reversible robe shows a gradient of silvery sage, champagne and golden brass, minimally decorated to provide respite to its maximalist reverse. It features an intricate honeycomb pattern across the back, as well as selected lyrics to James Reid and William Reid's 'Just Like Honey' (most famously performed by The Jesus & Mary Chain) along the lapel.
Featuring a different gradient of rich golden hues, the B-SIDE is decorated with graffiti bees, an artistic expression of beauty and dissent. Delicately embroidered silver gossamer thread wings flutter throughout, while passages of printed text tell Greek mythology tales of the land of milk and honey, the nectar of the gods and its creator, Melissa the bee. Carefully selected words are hand-embroidered for added texture and an almost embossed effect.
